June 29 2010 On all Ricoh, Kyocera and Canon equipment (containing a hard drive) to be resold or returned to leasing, Thermocopy implements a standard procedure to delete user data on the system and hard drive. These security measures are provided at no additional cost to our customers. Our certified technicians perform specific security steps (all verified and tracked) on every device that could store customer data. Our technicians may delete data to include, but not limited to, IP addresses, company directories, network data, contact lists, email/fax addresses, job logs, and user settings. Additionally, all equipment utilized for parts or recycling will have the hard drive removed. We've created a downloadable document that outlines these security steps, and we invite you to contact your Thermocopy Representative to discuss specific concerns you may have related to equipment data security. The best protection against unwanted access to the confidential or sensitive information contained in your documents is to implement a proactive security strategy. Thermocopy offers our customers a variety of security products that can erase data, encrypt data, or a combination of both functions. These measures make it very difficult—or impossible (depending on the specific product and options)—for hackers to retrieve data through disk utilities or file recovery tools. Our consultants can customize a security package for your business with these additional options, based on your devices and security requirements. |
