Thermocopy Proudly Supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley

Our president, Steve Sumner, recently received this letter of thanks from John Lee of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley. Thermocopy has been proud to support BGCTNV for many years.

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your donation of $1,000.00 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley. The members will greatly benefit from your generous support.

There are many stories that we could tell to reflect the impact that the Boys & Girls Club has had on the kids we serve. One such story is Kwame’s story.

Kwame Willis attended the local Boys & Girls Clubs for 10 years. He was a member of the Club located in the KCDC public housing community Walter P. Taylor Homes. He also attended the Moses Teen Center. Kwame was awarded the Boys & Girls Clubs’ highest honor, Youth of the Year. The Youth of the Year award recipients exemplify service to Club, community and family; academic performance; moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability.

Kwame credits his personal growth and leadership qualities to his experience at the Boys & Girls Clubs. He is now giving back to the organization and community as a staff member at the Boys & Girls Clubs in the North Ridge Crossing public housing community.

A recent survey of 632 parents of Boys & Girls Clubs members revealed that 85% of their children attend the Club five days a week after school, and 84% described the homework and tutoring program that their children participate in as great or outstanding. Of the parents surveyed, 90% say that by their children participating in the homework help offered at the Club, they are able to devote more time to quality family moments together in the evenings.

Again, thank you for your support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley through your gift!

Sincerely,

John D. Lee
President and CEO

This type of story makes me think of how well the dollars are spent in support of the B&G’s clubs. What a great return on investment when affecting these childrens’ lives in a positive way.
