Last month, Mark DeNicola, our CFO and Director of Sales & Marketing, attended Ricoh’s dealer conference, Convergence 2011, in Orlando. One of the main seminars was titled “Total Green Office Solution,” and because Thermocopy has years of experience in this area and a commitment to educating businesses about best practices pertaining to eco-friendly solutions, Ricoh asked Mark DeNicola to present a case study for the seminar. Mark decided to share the green success story of our client, Tindell’s Building Materials.
The challenge for Tindell’s was to expand on their green practices throughout the company while improving efficiencies and reducing costs associated with document workflows. After a custom Printworks+ Managed Print Services analysis, Thermocopy came through with recommendations to replace stand-alone copiers, printers and fax machines with space and time-saving MFPs, and to replace paper workflows with the capture and filing of digital documents.
The result was lower long-term costs, lower energy consumption, and a reduction of landfill requirements with energy-efficient MFPs that use toner versus less eco-friendly ink cartridges. Tindell’s also benefited from the reduction of physical file storage and paper use and improved efficiency in document workflows with streamlined electronic document processes.

Awesome !
This is a great example of how going green can sometimes actually cost LESS than doing things the old way. Good job, Tindell’s!
I thought it was an honor that our case study was one of three to be presented at the conference.
This truly is what we all should be looking at and doing more of!
I was honored when Mark asked me to contact Tindell’s regarding this study. They were delighted to participate and have made many other changes in their work environment to accommodate the “Go Green” concept. I cannot wait to share this with Carl Tindell, their retired president, whom I have known for about 30 years. He will be delighted his employees chose to partner with us in this endeavor.
