Thermocopy Honored With Prestigious Environmental Award

Thermocopy, East Tennessee’s largest business technology company, was presented with the 2008 Environmental Achievement Award at the annual Keep Knoxville Beautiful Orchids and Onions Awards Banquet on October 9, 2008. Keep Knoxville Beautiful presents the award annually to a Knox County company that has implemented recycling or cleanup efforts that have resulted in community and/or economic development, contributed time and energy for the good of the community rather than personal gain, is a model of creativity, hard work, leadership, unity, motivation, openness, integrity, and love for the community and has had a major positive impact on the environment in the Knoxville/Knox County area. Thermocopy Sponsors EarthFest 2008

Pellissippi State Community College - Knoxville
Thermocopy will be sponsoring and participating in the EarthFest event on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, Tennessee. Earth Fest 2008 promises to bring a variety of musical groups to entertain us including The MacDaddies, The Dirty Gov'nahs, Lofash, Jodie Manross, Wires and Wood, The Road Scholars, Four Leaf Peat and West Side Cats, and ample food choices to satisfy our tastebuds. The children's area for EarthFest 2008 will be loaded with fun games and educational opportunities. Students from the Environmental Club at Belle Morris Elementary will be peforming Dr. Suess' "The Lorax" on Pellissippi's campus at noon on the day of EarthFest. There will be Film Room presentations, a compost bin sale, silent auction, and a mercury thermometer exchange.

EarthFest is an official "ZERO-WASTE EVENT"
EarthFest 2008 is aiming to be a Zero-Waste Event again! Exhibitors and food vendors will be required to control the types of materials they sell or distribute. EarthFest organizers, sponsors and volunteers will provide recycling and composting opportunities for everything distributed at the event. EarthFest was a 2007 recipient of a Tennessee Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award.


Baptist Labor of Love Tennis Classic

May 2 and 3, 2008
Thermocopy has continued its commitment to the community by sponsoring the 14th Annual Labor of Love Tennis Classic, the premier tennis tournament in the state, benefitting the Baptist Health System Foundation in support of vital initatives in East Tennessee. We are pleased to announce that last year's Labor of Love Tennis Classic netted more than $65,500 with an additional over $47,500 in Gift In Kind donations. The expenses were $1,000 under budget, 12 new committee members were added , 30 new players, and over $15,600 was raised between the live and silent auction! The event is chaired by Mark DeNicola of Thermocopy and over $940,500 has been raised during the 13 year life of this event.

The tournament is limited to 128 players and the registration deadline is April 18, 2008.This fund supports projects such as the Coronary Artery Risk Detection in Appalachian Communities Project (CARDIAC kids project), Reach Appalachia and Parish Nursing.
